Gaétan began learning Jive and Lindy Hop in 2003. This period of his life lasted only 2 years, but enabled him to discover a real passion for and familiarization with several dances. After a long break devoted to travel and other personal projects, he put his dancing shoes back on in early 2012. This time, his attention turned to 2 new styles that were to play an important role in his life: West Coast Swing and BLUES. Since 2012, Gaétan has been a very active player on the WCS and BLUES scenes in Quebec City.
He travels regularly to take part in major dance events where he trains, competes and practices his passion. Dance is an important part of his life, and rarely a day goes by without him practicing. In 2014, together with Marie, his partner at the time, he founded the Pulsation Danse school, where he has now been teaching for over 10 years. Since 2018, Gaétan has also been interested in Brazilian Zouk. It’s a style he teaches in Quebec City, but also frequently in other cities as a guest teacher.
Gaétan is as passionate about teaching as he is about dancing. Her teaching method is constantly evolving and, rather than following a pre-determined lesson plan, her courses are always evolving and carefully prepared to suit the students present. In addition to dance, Gaétan also has several other strings to his bow that have definitely influenced his approach to dance and his teaching style: – He has a degree in music and practiced classical guitar for 15 years. – He has 23 years of martial arts experience, including 12 years of teaching. – He has extensive experience as a DJ and event organizer.
